BE COMPASSIONATE We live in a world where the difficulties of living in our times has made people so occupied with themselves that they care less about others. People are so carried away with the care for themselves that they bother to know what happens about the next person. The above is the reason why people developed what is called "entitlement mentality". The mindset is inspired largely by selfishness and love for self. MOVE ON Most persons are of the habit of staying put in a condition that is doing them more harm than good. LETTER TO MENTEES Dear Mentee, I want to first appreciate you for deciding to take your life a bit more seriously by committing to a mentor. I commend you for doing so, because among several others who have desires to be successful in life, you are among the few that have decided to take a step further to know how to succeed. However, there are certain things I want you to know about mentorship. Mentorship is a two way traffic and so your input and that of your mentor is required for any success to be recorded. My Observation Series THE MENACE OF DRUG AND DRUG ADDICTION The recent reports about the high prevalence of drug abuse and addiction among youths in some states in the northern part of Nigeria, calls for concern and immediate actions to be taken by all to stop it. These epidemic is what has accounted for the increase in crimes and criminality and if nothing is done urgently, it might escalate to something disastrous that would be hard to be stopped. For the purpose of clarity, let's define what drug abuse and addiction is. Drug abuse is simply the use of drugs without, below or beyond description. My Observation Series BURN THOSE BRIDGES I notice something and it is really funny and it has to do with how people boast of their educational qualifications that has not translated to anything meaningful. Education is only a bridge to a destination and not the destination. Some persons have made their educational qualifications stand between them and their blessings in life. You might ask, how? I'll tell you... When you give some persons the  opportunity to work let's say a job with salary that may not be in their own eyes attractive, they  turn the offer down, claiming that their educational status does not befit such salary and so can't do it. What these persons fail to know is that there is something called 'experience' and it is required in the so called 'lucrative job' they are looking for and taking up such opportunities will give them that. Today, I stumbled into one of my mentors' post where she mentioned her age, what she's been through and how she is still strong and all... My Observation Series KNOWING TOO MUCH IS DANGEROUS Hey! Don't get it twisted, knowledge is very good and lots of it is even better as it stands you out among your peers or equals. There is even a saying that knowledge is power and I believe it too and having lots of it makes you powerful. Personally, I feel it is really inappropriate to do so. Atleast courtesy demands that you greet someone first before you push a message to them. MY OBSERVATION SERIES I remembered jogging one morning and a thought dropped in my mind and the thought was about how exercising relates to business. Mind whose counsel you seek Rehoboam after being made the King due to the death of king Solomon, decided to seek counsel on how to lead the people.  The first set of counselors came and they gave him wise counsel but the second group came and counseled him otherwise. OPINIONS Earlier today I asked a question on Facebook about whose opinion one would  take either that of a business coach or that of a successful business person and the answers I got were amazing. LESSONS FOR DEMOCRACY DAY Democracy day in Nigeria is a day set aside in Nigeria every year to celebrate the coming back to Democratic system of governance in Nigeria. Despite the way it has been practiced in Nigeria, it is still for me better than military rule as one is guaranteed protection of their fundamental human rights under a democratic dispensation. ON CHILDREN'S DAY Yesterday we had a service that was a little bit different as it was a service dedicated to celebrate children. It was characterized by activities such as children singing to us, a short stage play, children reeling out what they want from their children and a short exhortation on training children in a Godly way. However, the reason for this post is to highlight two activities that stood out and which applies to everyone that have children or hope to have children someday. One of the highlights was the part where children were asked to tell their parents what they wanted from them and if you permit me, I will share some with you and they are these: *They want their parents to spend more time with them. *They should take them to school more often and bring them back, not assigning someone else to do that. *Fathers should love their mothers more and not turn them to punching bags. *Their parents should be good to their neighbors and not be trouble mak...

REVELATION Earlier today I asked an interesting question about who God is. I asked the question to remind you or awaken your consciousness about God, because in our pursuit for things we tend to get carried away by the cares of this world that we forget His existence. From the answers I got, some said that God is Yahweh, provider, all in all and other great things and they are all correct and in fact God is even much more than that. However, who God is to you personally by revelation and experience would determine the kind of life you would live. Like Christ asked His disciples about who people say He is and Peter's answer to Him of who Jesus is to Him, it is your revelation of Who God is to you that will influence your life. To further push this matter, it is the revelation of who God is to you by experience and living according to that revelation that will translate to your being empowered to live according to His purpose on earth. RESPONDING Often a lot of us pay little or no attention to the all important issue of responding and it has landed us into places we lest desire. When we are faced with the issues of life or opposition from people, how do we react to it? I often tell people that how you respond to challenges or confrontation is what matters and not the confrontation itself. So mind how you react. Your reactions are what would determine how you will be judged and not necessarily the cause. The next time you want to react or respond to any issue, first think about the consequences of your reaction before carrying it out. When life throws challenges at you or when you are confronted by an opposition, respond with the right attitude. RESPOND Hello. I trust you had a great Easter celebration? Welcome to yet another chapter in the book called 2018. Today, I want to share with you on responding. In the scheme of events or happenings, what matters is not necessarily the gravity of the issue or challenge but how you respond to it or them. How you respond to issues will determine whether they can would be resolved or not. Note: All problems or challenges have solutions. In the course of study, I discovered a good way of responding to issues and it was exemplified by Jesus Christ. When confronted with challenges, He spoke solutions to them. In a situation where there are doubters, He addressed those doubts by rebuking their unbelief and ensure there is faith planted first before speaking solutions. One thing I noticed He never did was to recount the problem or lament about it. BEFORE YOU FIRE THEM In the course doing business, I discovered some things some business owners or bosses do that I feel it is an anomaly. # One of the things I discovered is lack of  adequately training their employees. If you don't train them, don't blame them. The people you hire to manage your business should be properly trained if you want them to function well in your business. It's laughable anytime I see how employers feel that monies spent to train their employees is a waste. It is rather part of the investment you make as a business owner to achieve maximum benefits from your business, so it is not a waste. If you can't spend money to train your employees, you are not ready to do business or maximize profit. Also, you have not moral right to make demands of them to be productive. # Another thing I discovered is lack of proper communication of the vision of a business. ASK FOR HELP There is a saying that if you want to go faster go alone, but if you want to go farther get others to go along with you. In view of the above, I wish to share with us about seeking help. Help in other words is assistance. You see, at some point in your life, you would need the help of others to get to point or through a situation, no matter your status. However, what I find funny with some people is their cold attitude towards persons that want to render one form of assistance or the other to them. They feel they don't need any help to get to where they want to get to or get through a situation. They feel they are all sufficient and so can do things all by themselves. Seeking assistance or help to get certain things done is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of maturity and strength. It takes strength or boldness to ask others for help. WATCH WHAT YOU SAY When you read the creation story, you will appreciate the power of words. Through spoken words, the Creator created the world and all that exist in it. Whatever He wanted to see in existence, He speak them into existence. Likewise we, whatever we are or would become  largely depend on the things we have spoken or would speak on our lives. Words are simply an expression of the contents of our heart (conscious and sub conscious mind). Words carry power. Whatever we pronounce into the universe, it is under obligation to bring it/them to pass. We must mind what we speak. If you must speak at all, speak deliberately and carefully. You can create the kind of world and life you want to live and live in with your words. Whatever damage you may have done with your words, you need words to also counter it or fix it. Reflect on this Two months down and less than ten months to go. The question is, what have you achieved so far this year? Should you not have anything to show so far, all hope is not still lost as you still have beginning from today to begin the process of achieving something meaningful. It's the beginning of a new month, the beginning of chapter three of 2018. It doesn't matter what stories you may have written in the first two chapters, the stories you would write in this chapter maybe the banger you need to open doors for you. PRINCIPLES AND GODLINESS In the course of living, I have seen people who have lived and are living. Some are living life to the fullest, while others are living below average or merely existing. I tried to investigate the reasons behind these types of living and what I found out is what I would share with you below. The first sets of persons I discovered were those that live by certain principles. They dig out principles concerning certain endeavors and live by them and guess what... they become super successful in those endeavors irrespective of what they believe in (as per religion or faith). The thing about principles is that they are Divine blue prints guiding endeavors and the Almighty respects them and rewards those that live by them. That accounts for why some are super rich or successful with little or no knowledge of God(experience). Secondly, on a higher level is Godliness. What is Godliness? It is simply living Godly lifestyle or living in accordance to His will....
