LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE
LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE
In one of my posts here I wrote about "leadership by design" I spoke that we all are born leaders. In this post, I want to take the discuss further by adding another perspective to it.
According to John Maxwell, he said that "leadership is influence" meaning that if you have influence over anyone you are a leader.
However, my question to you is, what kind of leader are you? Are you the kind of leader that talks one thing but does another? Are you the type that does not practice what he or she teaches?
You see, until you are a leader that leads by example, your leadership may not be effective.
Leadership by example builds trust for you in the minds of those you are leading. It shows them that you are a person with character. It also shows that you are feeling what they are feeling.
The reason why many don't take your leadership seriously is because you are not leading by example.
Leading by example also make those you are leading have respect for you.
When you lead by example as a leader, you wouldn't find it difficult to lead people for people are moved by your actions and not your words.
In whatever field you find yourself as a leader, if you want to be successful, lead by example. If you want to make any impact, lead by example. To lead people that would be loyal to you like the men of King David in the bible, lead by example. If you want to have a stress free leadership, lead by example.
Whatever it is you desire to see in your leadership or through your leadership, can be achieved by leading by example.
A word of caution, the example I'm advocating for is the one that is positive, legal, not with eye service and one with positive impact.
Be a leader that leads by what they do and not only what they say.
Thank you.
