LESSONS FOR DEMOCRACY DAY Democracy day in Nigeria is a day set aside in Nigeria every year to celebrate the coming back to Democratic system of governance in Nigeria. Despite the way it has been practiced in Nigeria, it is still for me better than military rule as one is guaranteed protection of their fundamental human rights under a democratic dispensation. Aside the guarantee of protection of one's human rights, it also gives one the privilege of aspiring to be anything you want to be, provided it is legal. Democracy depicts freedom meaning that it is a system where freedom is guaranteed. Thinking about democracy, what comes to my mind is that God is the Author of democracy. How? You may want to ask For the singular fact that he made man as a free moral agent, makes me believe that democracy originates from God.
